Fashionable and affordable maternity wear

We launched JoJo Maman Bebe in 1993 as a response to the lack of fashionable and affordable maternity wear available in the UK. Laura Tenison, founder and Managing Director, had spent several years working in France and found that continental women had a healthier attitude to being pregnant.

In the UK, women used to try to cover up their growing bump and wear unflattering baggy dresses whilst pregnant. With the JoJo Maman Bébé collection we want our customers to celebrate their pregnancy and not change their sense of style just because they are pregnant.

From maternity wear we have progressed to baby and children's clothing. Again the designs are made for practicality and comfort. Much of our baby collection is designed to open out completely flat to allow very easy changing.

Cotton is used wherever possible and other fabrics are tested for comfort and touch. Our labels are designed not to itch little necks and we go to great lengths to ensure the collection is well designed for nappy changing and dressing.

Tested by pregnant women

Our clothes are cleverly tailored to fit throughout and beyond the nine month period - don't forget that it takes a few weeks or months to get back to your normal shape. Trousers and skirts come with comfortable jersey bandeaux that expand with your waistline or adjustable elastic to adjust the width as required.

Wherever possible we use very soft stretch fabrics for comfort all over - not just in the bump area. All our designs are tested by pregnant women and many by our Managing Director who has two young boys. We take every care to ensure that the fit and style is comfortable, flattering and affordable.
